Where Delhi gets dressed
The markets, streets and neighbourhoods that set the tone for street fashion in Delhi, and what each one is good for.
Sarojini Nagar
Export surplus by the heap. Everyone in the city has a story about a jacket they found here for next to nothing.
Majnu ka Tilla
The Tibetan colony by the river. North Campus students come for the cafes and leave with the baggy denim.
Shahpur Jat and Hauz Khas Village
Young designers in old lanes. Good for one considered piece.
Janpath
Tibetan market, silver, mirror work bags and jackets from Gujarat, all on one stretch.
Kamla Nagar
The North Campus high street. Student prices, fast turnover.
What the weather allows
November to February is the layering season: shawls over hoodies, a Nehru jacket over a sweatshirt, boots that never see daylight anywhere else in the country. May and June are for thin cotton and staying indoors until seven.
When the city dresses up
Wedding season runs from November through February and half the city is a guest at something every weekend. Add the winter gig calendar and the Delhi leg of the sneaker festival, and there is a reason to dress up most nights.
Names to know
Almost Gods and Bluorng are both Delhi labels. VegNonVeg began here in 2016, and Crepdog Crew and Superkicks have stores in the city. Delhi is also where the borrowed pashmina from your mother turns up over a graphic tee and looks completely right.
Shops and labels change. This was last checked in September 2026. If something here has closed, moved or opened, tell us and we will fix it.
The Delhi fit
A heavy shawl over a hoodie with wide trousers and boots in January. In October, a block print shirt, pleated pants and loafers without socks.
Would you rate it?Delhi on Vybemo
A fit posted from Delhi is rated out of 10 by real people across India. After 48 hours it is scored. The number stays with the person who posted it, and the public sees a word. How the rating works
Delhi can also take its place in the weekly city battles, where fits are rated blind and the result comes out on Sunday. How city battles work
