The short version
Vybemo is a place to show what you wore and find out what people make of it. It works only if posting feels safe. So there are three rules above all the others.
- Post your own fit. Your outfit, your photo, you in it.
- Rate the outfit, not the person. The clothes are up for a score. The body wearing them is not.
- Adults only. Everyone on Vybemo, and everyone in a photo, is 18 or older.
The rest of this page spells that out. These guidelines are part of the terms of use.
What belongs on Vybemo
- The fit you wore to college, to work, to a wedding, to the airport, to nowhere at all.
- A ₹999 shirt next to a designer label. A thrifted jacket. A kurta with sneakers. A saree with a belt.
- Honest details: the brand, the size, the colour. If you do not know the brand, say so.
- Mirror photos, photos a friend took, photos with your face cropped out. All fine.
- Comments about the clothes: what works, what you would swap, where the proportions land.
What does not belong
This is what we mean by objectionable content. It comes down, whoever posts it.
Nudity and sexual content
No nudity, no see through clothing worn to show what is under it, no sexual poses, no sexual captions, no sexual comments or messages. Vybemo is about outfits people wear outside.
Anyone under 18
No one under 18 may have an account, and no one under 18 may appear in a photo. That includes younger siblings, cousins and children in the background. Anything that sexualises a child is removed at once and reported. Read our child safety standards.
Other people without their consent
Do not post a photo of someone else as a fit. No strangers on the metro, no screenshots from someone's profile, no celebrity photos, no pictures of an ex. If a friend is in the frame with you, they need to have said yes.
Harassment and body shaming
No comments, captions or messages about weight, skin colour, height, face, body shape, disability or age. No pile ons. No following someone from fit to fit to needle them. No turning a low score into an insult.
Hate
No attacks on people for their religion, caste, region, language, gender, sexuality or disability. That covers slurs, symbols and coded versions of both. A hijab, a turban, a lungi, a bindi or a mundu is an outfit choice like any other and gets rated like any other.
Threats
No threats of violence, no encouraging self harm, no threats to leak or share photos.
Doxxing
Do not share a phone number, home address, college, workplace, live location or any other detail that lets someone be found. Not yours in public, and never anyone else's.
Spam and selling
There is no shop on Vybemo. No selling, no reselling, no discount codes, no affiliate links, no paid promotion passed off as a fit, no copy and paste messages, no asking for follows or ratings in bulk.
Impersonation
Do not pretend to be another person, a brand, a celebrity or Vybemo staff.
AI generated people presented as real
A fit post shows real clothes on a real person. Do not post AI generated or heavily edited images of a person as if they were a photo of you. Do not use editing tools to put clothes on, or take clothes off, anyone.
Anything illegal
No content that breaks Indian law, including the sale of illegal goods and content that infringes copyright.
How to rate
- Look at the outfit. The pieces, how they sit, the colours, the shoes, the idea behind it.
- Give the score you believe. A kind 9 that you do not mean helps nobody. Neither does a spiteful 2.
- Price is not quality. A well put together ₹999 shirt can beat a label worn badly.
- Rate ethnic wear, streetwear, formals and modest wear on their own terms.
- Do not rate a fit low because of who posted it, where they are from or what they believe.
- One account, one rating. No second accounts, no vote trading, no organised voting groups.
- In the Arena the rating is blind. Do not try to work out or reveal whose fit it is.
A score is private to the person who posted. In public a fit only ever shows a word from the rating ladder. Please keep it that way: do not screenshot or share a number someone showed you in confidence.
Rooms and DMs
- A DM opens between people who follow each other, or after a request is accepted.
- A stranger gets one text only request. If it goes unanswered, that is the answer. Do not try again from another account.
- No sexual messages, no asking for photos, no asking to move to another app to get around these rules.
- Group rooms follow every rule on this page. The owner and admins of a room are expected to keep it clean.
What happens when rules are broken
It depends on what happened and whether it has happened before.
- Removal. The fit, comment or message comes down.
- Warning. You get a notice in the app that says what the problem was.
- Restriction. Messaging or message requests are paused for a period. Some pauses are automatic, for example when several people report the same account or most requests are declined.
- Suspension or removal of the account. For serious or repeated breaks. A group room can also be disabled.
Some things skip the ladder and go straight to removal of the account: sexual content involving a child, threats of violence, and sharing intimate images of someone without consent. Where the law requires it, we report to the authorities.
How to report
- A fit. Open it, tap the options menu, choose Report and pick a reason.
- A message or a chat. Open the message options or the chat menu and choose Report. Reporting a message request also declines it.
- A person. Block them from their profile or from a chat.
- Without the app. Write to grievance@vybemo.com with the handle and what happened.
Reports are confidential. The person you report is not told who reported them. When you report a chat, staff see only a snapshot of recent messages from that chat. Staff do not read chats otherwise.
How to appeal
We get things wrong sometimes. If your content was removed or your account was restricted and you think that was a mistake, write to hello@vybemo.com from the email address on your account. Tell us your handle and what was removed. A person looks at it again, and if we were wrong we reverse it where we can.
